He’s a good old boy — aren’t you?

Yeah — he’s just my buddy…

His name is Robert. Or Bob.

“Bobby”, those closest to him call him…

He’s in his seventh decade on this earth!

But you wouldn’t know it.

He seems to be in pretty good shape, I think, when compared with others…

Aren’t you boy — huh? Here’s a carrot…

Bobby is me. He’s my body.

He’s like a horse — it’s almost like I’m “riding” him — like he’s this great beast under me…

Willing, for the most part, to do my bidding — to go where I want him to go.

It might seem strange to envision the mind/body dichotomy as a horse and rider, but I think it helps me take care of him — he’s like this animal that’s been supporting me all my life, and deserving of my care and affection.

And, It is useful to employ the horse/rider scenario when looking after your Health.

It helps to objectify your health- so it can be examined easily like all the other moving parts of your life.

And, you would never abuse a horse’s health — would you? Certainly not a horse that is depending on you for its feeding and care!
